Raff Military Textile has marked a significant milestone in its international expansion following a strategic mission to Kampala, the capital of Uganda. As part of an official business delegation led by the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Trade and the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM), Chief Executive Officer Eray Yükseloğlu and his team visited the East African nation between 21 and 25 July to explore new commercial partnerships and establish foundational ties in defence sector.

Official Trade Delegation to Uganda

An Inside Look at the Uganda–Türkiye Trade Mission, where business leaders explored new opportunities for future defence collaboration.

The five-day trade mission was designed to strengthen economic links between Türkiye and Uganda. Organised with official government support, the initiative gave leading Turkish enterprises direct access to key institutional stakeholders, government officials, and commercial leaders in Kampala. During these encounters, the executive team evaluated local market requirements, examined regional supply chains, and demonstrated how Turkish manufacturing standards can fulfil public sector procurement needs across East Africa.

Throughout the five-day programme, CEO Eray Yükseloğlu and his team held targeted meetings to evaluate future cooperation in the defence and security sector. Primary discussions focused on introducing the company’s manufacturing capabilities in specialised military textiles, official police uniforms, and high-impact protective gear tailored to local operational conditions. By sharing technical expertise and addressing specific operational demands of security forces in the region, Raff Military Textile established a practical framework to build the first official bridge for defence industry cooperation between Türkiye and Uganda.

Expanding Continental Partnerships

According to the company, the Kampala meetings generated several promising commercial opportunities that will be actively pursued in the coming months. Adding Uganda to its growing network represents a significant step in the manufacturer’s global expansion. Africa remains one of Raff Military Textile’s most important international markets, with active supply agreements and commercial partnerships across more than 45 African nations. The inclusion of Uganda further reinforces the company’s position as an established supplier of certified military apparel, anti-riot equipment, and tactical accessories across the continent.

Fostering Long-Term Growth

Beyond the direct commercial advantages for the company, the mission has contributed positively to the broader diplomatic and economic relationship between Türkiye and Uganda. Both nations continue to seek avenues for increased bilateral trade, industrial collaboration, and strategic partnership. By aligning private sector expertise with official government trade initiatives, the delegation highlighted how corporate enterprise can support wider diplomatic objectives in emerging international markets.
