Turkish Turaç completes firearms and explosives handling training to Mali military

Turkish defence company Turaç has completed the training of Malian military personnel on firearms, weapons, and explosive material handling.

The training given by Turaç, one of the leading Turkish defense industry companies, to the military delegation of Mali was successfully completed on 19 December.

The training given at Turaç’s factory in Çankırı was carried out within the scope of the cooperation signed between the Mali Ministry of Defense and the Turkish Ministry of National Defense.

Turaç General Manager Fatih Altunbaş presented certificates to the Mali military delegation.

Issa Ousmane Coulibaly, Ambassador of the Republic of Mali to Ankara, and the accompanying delegation visited Turaç in September 2022.

TURAÇ is one of the largest firearms and explosives marketing companies in Turkey. TURAÇ is the first company to obtain a rifle production license in Turkey, produces and sells small arms ammunition and reached 84 countries in its export figures

The company’s products includes 9x19mm cartridges, NATO standards include parabellum, FMJ, JHP, subsonic, non-lethal, and fissile core Frangible cartridges; In order to civil purpose use Luger FMJ, as environmentally friendly TFMJ cartridge versions manufactures more than 10 types of 9x19mm pistol cartridges and 7.65 and .45ACP calibers.

The Egyptian contingent of MINUSMA, based in Douentza in the Mopti region of central Mali, consists of 200 peacekeepers who provide security for logistical convoys and field operations. The 2S25M Sprut-SDM1 is a modernized version of the 2S25 Sprut-SD self-propelled anti-tank gun designed and manufactured by the Russian defense Company Tractor Plants. The 2S25M was specially designed to be used by the Russian airborne troops as an anti-tank vehicle. The modernization of the 2S25 increases reliability and improves technical characteristics by unification with BMD-4M chassis components. According to a representative of Russian defense contractor Tractor Plants, the firepower of the 2S25M Sprut-SDM1 air-droppable self-propelled anti-tank gun is on par with that of the T-90MS main battle tank.
