The government of Russia and Algeria are currently discussing the possibility of creating a joint venture in Algeria for the production, extension of service life and disposal of guided and unguided ammunition, said the head of the Federation Council Committee on Defense and Security Viktor Bondarev.

“At the request of the Algerian side, the possibility of creating a joint venture on its territory for the production, repair, extension of service life and disposal of guided and unguided ammunition is being worked out,” Bondarev said in a meeting with the leadership of the republic’s Ministry of National Defense on Wednesday. His words leads the press service of the senator.
Also, according to him, after-sale service projects for Russian military products are at a different stage of development.

Bondarev also added that Russia is considering the possibility of supplying new models of weapons and military equipment to Algeria.
“In order to promote Russian interests in the conditions of competition in the Algerian arms market, the possibility of supplying new types of weapons and military equipment that have not been exported to Algeria is currently being worked out,” said Bondarev.
