Forces fighting in Libya has released photos of the Chinese made GP1 GPS guided artillery shells being used during combat in Warshefana Southwestern Tripoli. This is a Chinese first generation guided artillery shell.

In addition to having improved accuracy, the HE-ER projectile also has an enhanced fragmentation effect against a wide range of battlefield targets.

The GP1 is quite similar to the Russian made 30F39 Krasnopol 152/155 mm fin-stabilized shell with base bleed assistance. The countries around Libya using this technology includes UAE and Saudi Arabia.

The Libyan combatants are currently receiving new weapons from unknown sources . Such new arm includes the Iranian-made Ghods Mohajer drones being used by the Libyan National Force.
