The SAHA 2026 Exhibition in Istanbul has once again proved to be an important event for global defence. However, the Raff Military Textile stand became a surprising and key meeting point for high-level African military delegations.

What the company presented was much more than standard military supplies. By combining modern tactical gear with a deeply researched tribute to military history, they showed a level of care rarely seen in the industry. This focus on both future technology and historical respect appealed strongly to senior officers, who see the protection of their troops as a matter of national honour.

Honouring History with the Fifty-Seventh Regiment

A major highlight of the stand was a special tribute to the Second Infantry Battalion of the famous Fifty-Seventh Regiment. The company carried out a meticulous reconstruction of World War I Ottoman military uniforms, bringing a lost era back to life with striking accuracy. This unit is known worldwide for its extreme bravery and sacrifice. The display caught the attention of many senior defence officials, leading to deep conversations about the historic roots of modern military strength.

Working with the respected military historian Doctor Erhan Çavdaroğlu, the company did not just make basic copies of old uniforms. Instead, their researchers used genuine, century-old items to perfectly recreate the exact clothing worn by the Non-Commissioned Officers and soldiers. This strict attention to historical facts earned great respect from the visiting African leaders. It showed them that a company that cares this deeply about the past can be trusted to build high-quality gear for the future.

Driving Innovation for the African Armed Forces

Throughout the event, the Raff Military Textile stand transformed into a bustling centre for African defence planners and senior officials. Rather than simply viewing the displays and moving on, these key decision-makers chose to linger and hold substantial meetings. Reporters noted several high-ranking commanders and logistics experts from across the continent engaged in deep, strategic discussions. These conversations went far beyond casual inquiries; the delegates were actively examining the durability of the fabrics, evaluating how the tactical equipment would perform across diverse African terrains, and debating long-term supply strategies. The stand effectively became a working hub where the practical challenges of equipping modern, highly mobile armies were actively addressed.

During these meetings, visiting delegates pointed out a major change in how militaries acquire equipment. They explained that African armies no longer just buy basic, ready-made items. Today, they are looking for top-tier quality and close technical partnerships. Raff Military Textile meets this need, offering modern, highly breathable gear designed specifically for the hot African climate.

A Vital Partner for Modernisation

The main strength of the exhibit was how clearly it showed a century of progress. By placing perfectly recreated historic uniforms right next to modern tactical clothing, the company gave a clear display of its skills.

This setup proved to the African delegations that Raff Military Textile has both the historical dedication and the engineering knowledge needed to protect the soldiers of today. At SAHA 2026, the firm proved it is not just a supplier, but an essential partner in modernising the armed forces of Africa.
