HAVELSAN has further enhanced its command and control capabilities by nationalizing commercial off-the-shelf electronic boards previously sourced from abroad, such as Single Board Computers (SBCs), Time Cards, Various Interface and Power Cards, and Compact PCI Backplanes used in the domestically developed Ship Data Distribution System (GVDS).

The 56th member of the Ship Data Distribution System (GVDS) family, produced using electronic boards developed by HAVELSAN engineers, successfully passed the Factory Acceptance Test for MİLGEM-6 with a 100% success rate, earning an “A” grade.

With all electronic boards now developed in-house by HAVELSAN personnel, the Real-Time VxWorks operating system drivers have also been optimized to run at full performance. As a result, HAVELSAN’s GVDS hardware and software solution—considered the heart of naval vessels—now incorporates fully nationalized electronic boards.

The same high-performance electronic hardware and software infrastructure can also be utilized in other projects, such as the Peace Eagle (Barış Kartalı) airborne early warning and control aircraft.

A Key Achievement in Nationalization

Commenting on the successful nationalization of electronic boards for the Ship Data Distribution Systems, HAVELSAN General Manager Dr. Mehmet Akif Nacar stated:

“This achievement has been made possible thanks to the strong emphasis placed on nationalization by the Presidency of Defense Industries, the Ministry of National Defense, and the Turkish Naval Forces Command in the systems we develop. We also owe this success to our electronic design engineers, system engineers, real-time and embedded software engineers, mechanical design engineers, industrial engineers responsible for manufacturing, as well as our technicians and technical staff who contributed at every stage of the process. I extend my heartfelt thanks to each and every one of them.”
