Nigerian navy inducts 20 new boats to combat maritime crimes

A nigerian navy rigid inflatable boats used by the NNSBS

In furtherance of the drive to secure the Nigerian water ways against piracy and other maritime vices, the Nigerian Navy is set to induct twenty (20) new patrol boats at the NNS DELTA in Warri Delta state. This new boats includes 16 Nigerian-made epenel patrol boats and four Rigid Hull Inflatable boats (RHIB) bought from South Africa.

The newly acquired boats would be used to combat crude oil theft, illegal refining of crude oil, maritime patrol and special operations.

Nigerian has been severely battered by maritime crimes and this new boats is a welcome addition.
