Nigeria’s SECPRO launches Air Surveillance and Aviation Academy subsidiary

SECPRO AFRICA LTD, an independent international security and business risk consultancy, has announced the launch of its subsidiary, SecPro Airwing. This new division is set to take flight operations to the skies of Kaduna, Nigeria, offering services in Air Surveillance, ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance), and a Pilot School. This endeavor marks another successful milestone for SECPRO Africa Ltd, a leader in the region for defense and security, as well as aviation services.

SECPRO AFRICA LTD has established itself as a trusted partner for defense, military, and security organizations by delivering specialist support, mitigating risks, and optimizing opportunities. Their hallmark lies in creating tailored security and business risk solutions for each unique project or task.

SecPro aviation, a subsidiary of SecPro Africa, with its headquarters in Abuja, is expanding its footprint in Kaduna state, Nigeria. The division has kick-started its operations with the acquisition of two Piper Aztec aircraft, (serial: 5N-BKD and 5N-BCD) which are set to play a pivotal role in the air surveillance and training activities.

The Piper Aztec aircraft, also known as the Piper PA-23, has a notable history as a four-to-six-seat twin-engined light aircraft designed for the general aviation market. This versatile aircraft has served not only civilian purposes but also found utility with military forces across the globe. The procurement of these aircraft represents a significant investment, with the average price for a pre-owned PIPER Aztec D-E being around $61,500.00, depending on several factors.

As the division gears up for air surveillance, the two Piper Aztec aircraft are being outfitted with cutting-edge Starlight Italia X-Series EO/IR camera pods. This advanced multi-sensor payload incorporates thermal imaging, night vision technology based on 2A+ light amplification tubes, and an optical day camera. These features enable unparalleled hazard detection, threat assessment, and 24/7 situational awareness.

The X Series, designed for various maritime applications, including Search and Rescue (SAR), law enforcement, patrol craft, and super yachts, ensures high-resolution video capture in total darkness as well as bright sunlight. The system is actively stabilized to counteract motion, thanks to its state-of-the-art multi-gyro platform based on proprietary software. Starlight Italia, a prominent Italian company specializing in thermal imaging and night vision systems, has been instrumental in manufacturing these multi-sensor platforms, further enhancing the capabilities of SECPRO’s air surveillance operations.

Meanwhile, late last year SecPro Africa Ltd expanded it’s footprint across Africa, by establishing it’s presence in Ivory Coast to handle business in all the francophone West African Countries. SecPro signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Avianet Consulting, a global military solutions provider and security consultant.

SECPRO AFRICA LTD’s expansion into air surveillance and aviation training through its subsidiary, SecPro Airwing, heralds a new era of capabilities in defense, security, and aviation services in West Africa. The addition of Piper Aztec aircraft equipped with Starlight Italia’s X-Series technology strengthens the region’s response to security challenges and enhances its capabilities for surveillance and reconnaissance, further solidifying SECPRO’s position as a leader in the industry. This strategic move sets the stage for more innovations and growth in the years to come, making SECPRO a vital player in the ever-evolving landscape of defense and security solutions.
