# Paramount supply transport aircraft to Mozambique

South African Paramount Group has delivered two transport aircraft to the Mozambican
Armed Defense Forces (FADM) needed to enhance combat readiness capacity against 
terrorism that plagues Cabo Delgado province.

Speaking at the presentation of the aircraft, the Commander of the Air Force (FA),
Major General Cândido Tirano said that the aircraft are; a LET 410 and CASA 235 
with the capacities of 17 and 30 seats.

Major General Cândido Tirano said that the military transport aircraft are intended
for military transport and logistics missions as well as for deploying paratroopers.

Both aircraft offers landing and takeoff advantages on conventional runways.

Tirano also considered that Paremount, a South African Defense Aerospace Industries
company, has been cooperating with the FADM in various aspects, such as training
its staff, supplying and repairing a variety of types of military equipment.

The Commander thanked the Mozambican government for its partnership with the company
Paramount and the equipping of the Mozambique FA branch, he stressed.

Paramount continues to provide essential support to Mozambican forces battling Violent
Extremist Organizations (VEO) in the oil and gas rich Cabo Delgado region.

Paramount is training fifteen Mozambican pilots at the Paramount Technical Training
Academy based at Polokwane International Airport, while Burnham Global is also training
Mozambican military personnel on armoured vehicles operations.

Last year, [Paramount delivered six Gazelle light utility helicopter ](http://military.africa/2021/03/gazelle-helicopters-marauder-armoured-vehicles-join-the-fight-in-mozambique)
to help with the counter insurgency fight in Cabo Delgado.

Both Gazelles were acquired from former British Army stock by Paramount in an auction.

The business also includes the sale of twelve Marauder armoured vehicles made by
Paramount.

Although, [one of the Gazelle helicopter deployed against jihadists in northern Mozambique was shot down](https://www.military.africa/2020/04/south-african-mercenarys-gazelle-helicopter-shot-down-in-mozambique/)
with small arms fire.

Also, [Paramount Group supplied it’s Mwari ISR aircraft to Mozambique](https://www.military.africa/2021/11/mwari-in-cabo-delgado/)
on behalf of the national government.

The Mwari along with a Bombardier Dash 8 intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance(
ISR) aircraft operated by Canada’s PAL Aerospace; are the two major ISR components
helping the government in its fight against insurgents.
