Ghana’s OMA group provides logistics services to UN

OMA Logistics Ghana has achieved another milestone by providing logistic services to the United Nations when it supported the transfer of equipment to South Sudan via Mombasa port.

OMA Logistics Ghana provides ship agency and husbandry services for all types of vessels from oil tankers to Navy ships, bulk carriers to cruisers; by air, sea or land including transit in Mali, Burkina Fast and Niger.

The United Nation’s equipment that was transferred included containers, patrol jeeps, armoured vehicles, crowd control vehicles & equipment, sanitary equipment and generators.

According to OMA Logistics, the whole process included supervising both the loading and transportation of the equipment to Tema port. After safe delivery to the port, OMA Logistics acted as agents for the UNIATLANTICO chartered vessel and arranged the smooth loading of the cargo on board the vessel.

“The United Nations has, understandably, extremely high and exacting standards that must be followed by all suppliers and we were delighted to happily meet all their requirements.” says Gerrit Van der Merwe the Managing Director.
